TEAM: FIRST PERIOD SECOND PERIOD THIRD PERIOD FINAL SCORE:
Eastern Michigan 4(15) 2(13) 2(7) 8(35)
Mercyhurst 1(9) 0(3) 0(5) 1(17)

Ann Arbor, MI- Robert McNamara probably wishes he could continue to have games as good as this one. His four goals, led the Eastern Michigan Eagles to their second victory of the year, and a series sweep against Merchyhurst.

Coming off of a 17-5 rout, Eastern Michigan was filled with confidence coming into this game, and they showed a more impressive defensive performance on this evening. The Eastern Michigan defense played well, except for one minor miscue turning over the puck in front of the net with #16 Chad Klimow stealing the puck and shooting it by Sophomore Jake Pruss.

The Eastern Michigan offense was not as sharp as it could of been, with several arrid passes and several plays that should of turned into goals. Lucky for Mercyhurst, this helped to make the score a little more respectable.

The game was also not the smoothest game I've been to in a long time. It was marred with several penalties, several long conferences from the referees and a total of four ejections including the Captain Dane Dresch.

The following Eastern Michigan Eagles made the scoresheet:

Chris Allman- 1 Assist
Robert McNamara- 4 Goals, 1 PP(MVP)
Ryan Gauthier- 2 Assists
Mike McNamara- 2 Assists
Dane Dresch- 2 Goals, 1 PP
Johnny Brown- 2 Assists
John Fritz- 3 Assists
Mike Koveleski- 1 Assist
Scott Bricker- 1 Assist
Brandon Love- 1 Goal
Mike York- 1 Goal, 2 Assists

Starting Goalie: Jake Pruss(16 saves on 17 shots)

Mercyhurst had some chances to score, but thanks to Pruss and some very tenacious defense they were held in check for the entire game.

B+
Reasoning: The Offense did score 8 goals indeed. However, I am considering the fact in which Eastern's offense wasn't ticking as well as it could of. It had several plays that weren't as well created as they should of been. The offense also spent long periods of the game just passing around too much. It will improve, I'm sure.

 A-
Reasoning: The defense played outstanding on this evening. The defense made several nice plays, except for one miscue of turning the puck over in their own zone. Yes, this was the one goal from Mercyhurst.

A-
Reasoning: The Power Play scored 2 goals out of 6 chances which isn't too bad. However, with an offense this powerful they should be able to at least get a PPG half of the time. The penalty kill did not allow a single goal, but then again there weren't too many opportunties for Mercyhurst to experiment with this.

Jake Pruss played a flawless game in my mind. He was forced to make a lot of good saves, and the one goal he gave up was completely due to the defense hanging him out to dry. It's very nice when you have a backup goalie who can play this well for you.

A-
Reasoning: It was quite an impressive evening at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube. The Eastern Michigan Hockey Band as always made the place very exciting to go to. The players played with a little passion, and showed a lot of good things. Some things need to be improved, such as their offense becoming a little sharper in their passes. Nothing wrong with some errors in the second game of the year though.
