Signups:
Very simple, send me an e-mail at kevin.mccrumb@gmail.com,
letting me know which of the two group dates will work best for you.
Please let
me know if there is one date that will absolutely NOT work for you. If
necessary, we can shift the dates around to have two groups on the
first day and
one on the second, etc... It just depends on the availability of our
group. You can also sign up by just letting me know through AIM or
through some other web contact form.
The two group dates are again:
Sunday, May 3rd and Sunday, May 10th both at 3:00 PM EST
Format:
The BGN Invitational 8 is mirroring that of the popular MSL
Tournament that
is held in Korea. Essentially there will be two to four groups of four
players
each and each group will play a mini-double elimination tournament to
cut each
group in half. The process is then repeated to ultimately get us down
to our
final two.
More Tournament Specifics:
Format:
1. All Matches Will Be Best of 3 Series except for the final
tiebreaker match
to determine the second place finisher in each group. This particular
match will
be one single game.
2. This means that the maximum number of games that a player will play
in a
particular round of StarCraft is 7.
Match Specifics:
Game 1: Tau Cross
Game 2: Loser of Game 1's Choice
Game 3: Winner of Game 1's Choice
The Elimination Game In Each Group will be played on the map Python.
Championship Series:
Game 1: Luna
Game 2: Loser of Game 1's Choice
Game 3: Winner of Game 1's Choice
Game 4: Loser of Game 1's Choice
Game 5: Winner of Game 1's Choice
Game 6: Tau Cross
Game 7: Python
Map Pool:
1. Python
2. Tau Cross
3. Luna
4. Destination
5. Medusa
6. Andromeda
7. Longinus
Elimination Stage:
All Group Series/Quarterfinals/Semifinal Series are bo3 except
for the
single game elimination games. The championship series in all three
cases is
best of 7.
If Two Groups:
Series 1: Group 1 Winner vs Group 2 Runner Up(best of 3)
Series 2: Group 2 Winner vs Group 1 Runner Up(best of 3)
Series 3: Series 1 Winner vs Series 2 Winner(Winner Advances to
Championship
Series)
Series 4: Series 1 Loser vs Series 2 Loser(Loser is Eliminated)
Elimination Game: Series 3 Loser vs Series 4 Winner(Winner Advances to
Championship Series)
If Three Groups:
In the case of three groups, the process gets a little more
complicated. The
top two finishers in each group will move on automatically into the
quarterfinal
series. The three remaining third place finishers will then compete in
a series
of round robin games. The two players with the best records will move
into the
quarterfinals.

DISCONNECTIONS
- If the disconnection occurs within 2 minutes of the beginning of a
game, the
match should be restarted.
- If the disconnection occurs after 2 minutes, the players can agree to
restart
the match. If one of the competitors claims that they had a huge
advantage and
was going to win, the administrator will take a look at the replay and
give his
decision. The decision of the administrator is absolute and cannot be
overruled.
If the decision is that a rematch should be played and a player
disagrees to
play it - he loses.
